Funch-photo
2010My first imitation of the work of the American photograph Funch. He positions his camera on one spot for a long period, and afterwards gathers elements in one photograph. Technically more difficult than you might think. I made this in a pedestrian area (!) in Deurne and is made from about ten photo's. Mijn eerste imitatie van het werk van de Amerikaanse fotograaf Funch. Deze zet zijn camera gedurende lange tijd vast op een plaats, en maakt naderhand een collage van mensen die in die tijd te zien waren. Technisch toch moeilijker dan je zou denken. Deze foto maakte ik op een voetgangersgebied (sic) in Deurne en bestaat uit een stuk of tien foto's.
Hotel Luik
2010Again from the photo trip to Luik in Belgium, near the new train station, I found this hotel. I especially liked the light patterns from the street lamps. Weer tijdens het foto-uitstapje naar Luik, vlakbij het nieuwe station, lag dit hotel. Ik vond de lichtval van de lantaarns zo mooi.
Taverne La Gare
2010Shot during the photo trip to Luik, opposite the futuristic new train station of the town. There you'll find this old part of town. Tijdens het foto-uitstapje naar Luik, geschoten tegenover het futuristische nieuwe station van de stad. Daar ligt dit oude stadsgedeelte.

Assignment May
2009The assignment read: "What the end is for the caterpillar, is the beginning for the butterfly." Made it into an ironic picture by adding the line "Wonders of Nature". Still I like it. De opdracht was: 'Wat het einde is voor de rups, is het begin voor de vlinder.' Heb er door de bijgevoegde tekst een ironisch plaatje van gemaakt. Toch mooi.
Female window dummy
2009A window dummy. An old fascination of mine. Take a look sometimes how beautiful they are, like sculptures. This one is still there, in Eindhoven... Een etalagepop. Een oude fascinatie van me. Kijk maar eens hoe mooi sommigen van hen zijn, als beeldhouwwerken. Deze staat er nog altijd, in Eindhoven...
Portrait of Uncle Wim
2009A portrait of my uncle Wim, who taught me to photograph. He is alone now, has locked away his camera's, and misses his aunt Nel. Een portret van mijn oom Wim, die me leerde fotograferen. Hij is nu alleen, heeft zijn camera's opgeborgen, en mist zijn tante Nel.

2009Here my uncle Wim lives now, between old books, black and white photo's and "In memoriam" cards. Hier woont mijn ome Wim, tussen oude boeken, zwart-wit foto's en bidprentjes.
It is a party today
2008Being a guest on a wedding taking place in broad daylight, in an undecorated room. There was even a polonaise... Te gast op een bruiloft die overdag, in een onversierde ruimte werd gevierd. Zelfs een polonaise werd ingezet...
Living together
2008My father-in-law and his little group of card players. I once heard from an older woman that the only contact with the outside world she had, was her card evening. But the group was growing smaller rapidly. This photo was made as an assignment for photoclub Optika. Een opdracht voor fotoclub Optica: 'Samenleven'. Deze oude mensen komen elke week bij elkaar om te kaarten.
